Top 7 Unusual Websites To Cure Boredom

Subscribe to my list

This is a useless post, but don’t be so serious. Read it!

The amount if websites out there today is actually scary and the fact that there are approximately 140 000 created each day is even scarier. with that said, not all of those are actually going to entertain us. When boredom strikes, we often rely on the internet to cure that boredom by going on social media but that can easily get boring at times.

As someone who spends the majority of my time by myself, I have mastered the art of not getting bored. I’m an introvert so I’m the happiest when I’m by myself most of the time. The problem is sitting around doing nothing irks me so I have had to find websites besides twitter that will keep me entertained for a long period of time.

To fix that, I found a couple of websites that I can go to when nothing entertains me.

1. When Tumblr Is Down

If you are a Tumblr user you probably know how much this can affect you. When Tumblr is down there is literally no entertainment left. This is such a stupid idea but I love it so much. This is basically a website that tells you things you could do when Tumblr is down because we are all addicted to Tumblr.

All you have to do is keep refreshing the page to get new ideas. When you are bored I bet this will seem rather entertaining.

2. The Useless Web

This will make you realize how many useless websites exist out there. It is so stressful to me that there are actual people creating these types of websites honestly. For example, there is this website Endless Horse which just shows you a horse with really long legs (above), that are endless. How worthless is that, what is the point?

One thing I will say about this website though is that it is the most entertaining because you are never sure which website you will get when you ask to be transferred to a useless website.

3. Is it normal

Maybe you sometimes ask yourself if that thing you do that no one knows about is normal. This website is here for you.

Basically, it’s just random people asking each other if the things they do are normal or not and people will vote to let you know if it is or not. Normally I go there to read the weird questions and answers but I’m not actually a member.

Ok let me be real, I never visit this site but maybe you might like it.

I do have to warn you though, most of the popular questions are sexual so proceed with caution. there are categories though so check that out.

4. Free Rice

Rice up against hunger
On this website, you will be curing both boredom and world hunger. You get asked questions and for each right answer, 10 grains of rice are donated to world food program to help end world hunger. this is both so cool and generous because you can use your free time to help other people. This is a website worth spreading word about, especially to those who spend a lot of time online.

5. Wattpad

Any fiction reader who doesn’t have this app on their phone is simply not living the life. Wattpad is the home of amateur writers and let me tell you, nothing about the books on Wattpad is mature. There are literally millions of books available to read and some people have even got published after being discovered on Wattpad.

This is the app that makes me stay in bed all day some days because some books are just so addictive that you have to finish it before moving on with your life. True story. I have even had to delete it during my Matric exams so I could focus, but the next day I downloaded it again. It’s that bad.

For someone who cannot afford to buy books, this is a gold mine and I will forever appreciate Wattpad writer because they bring so much joy in my life with just their words and creative ideas

6. Buzzfeed

I have a love-hate relationship with Buzzfeed because 95% of their content is just plain stupid and is so unnecessary. The world could be a better place without the existence of this website but for bored people, it can be entertaining. Even though I might be trash talking it, I still go there and spend hours taking quizzes and reading articles.

They create so many articles about things people don’t even care about but somehow some of us end up clicking and going to the website. They also steal content but it doesn’t end up being illegal for some reason.

It is wise to not share that trash with your friends. Just keep the BuzzFeed part of your life on the DL (down low for the old people) because trust me, no one cares about your results for “Which Possible Illuminati Member Are You”

Visit it if you want to procrastinate by reading their articles and taking their quizzes.

7. Irkitated

I think this person was just annoyed at the world and then created a website to vent. It will definitely keep you entertained for a long time because let’s be honest, we all have things that annoy us and if there is a website showcasing that then we will love it.

What I love about this blog is that I can relate to most things he says. Here are the most popular headlines from the blog so can get a feel of what it’s all about.
